Jane Hodson

Photographer & Visual Artist

Jane Hodson moved to London after completing a BA (Fine Arts) in Farnham. She gained experience as a photographer's assistant to David Montgomery before working for renowned celebrity photographer Terry O'Neill.

After a spate of travelling and a Photojournalism post-graduate course at the London College of Printing, she began shooting as an independent and international photographer in 1999.

Editorial credits include Sunday Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine, The Guardian, The Times, You Magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour and Tatler.

Notable Subjects

Her portfolio of well-known personalities is impressive and includes Tony & Cherie Blair, Eliza Manningham-Buller (Director General of the Security Service, MI5), Mo Mowlem, Elton John, Lulu, Paul Smith, Ronnie Wood, Vinnie Jones, Shirley Bassey, Jools Holland, Joan Collins, Mark Knopfler, Hugh Grant, Alex James, Thandie Newton, Mariella Frostrup, Theo Fennell and Gian Luca Vialli. She has provided still moving images for The Hairy Bikers television series.

Commercial Work

Jane is a regular contributing photographer for high-end brands such as the BBC and Quintessentially Events. Advertising and design contracts include Virgin Cola, Random House Book Publishing, Transworld Publications, The Royal College of Art, The Teacher Training Agency, Southwark Council, Addaction and The Portobello Food Company.

Exhibitions

Jane's photography has been exhibited at The Association of Photographers' Gallery, The Metropolitan Hotel and Met Bar, Westbourne Studios and the LCP. Photographs are included in various global art collections. Exhibitions commissioned by ABN-AMRO and Heidrick and Struggles for their London headquarters. CNN documented the "Women in Work" exhibition for their international arts programme.

Other Interests

Jane's other active interests include trapeze, pottery, fishing and food.
